Working with us
The closest GTA city to our office
Of all the places we serve outside Toronto, Pickering is the nearest to our office at 3319 Sheppard Ave E, Suite 103. You can choose how much of your matter happens in person.

Every matter starts the same way: a free 15-minute discovery call by phone, at a time you pick, or the online quote, which takes about two minutes and shows the legal fee for a purchase, sale or refinance before you retain us.
- Buying or selling in Pickering: we go through each document with you by video while you sign on paper, and you courier the originals back. Pickering clients can also sign at the office instead.
- Wills and powers of attorney: signed at the office with the witnesses present. Where a medical or mobility reason makes coming in difficult, we can come to your home in Pickering for $500 + HST.
- Notarized documents and certified copies: always in person, because Ontario requires the notary to be physically present. Bring the original and government-issued photo ID.
- Immigration: consultations are by phone, in English, Armenian or Arabic. Declarations that must be sworn, such as a common-law declaration for a sponsorship, can be done at the office.

Pickering at a glance
Durham Region rules, next door to Toronto
Pickering is a city in Durham Region, not part of Toronto. That one fact changes your taxes, your court and the rules for new homes.

Buying a home
Only the City of Toronto charges a municipal land transfer tax, so a Pickering purchase pays Ontario’s tax alone: about $14,475 on a $900,000 home (as of 2026), roughly half what the same price costs in Scarborough. Worked examples, the first-time buyer refund and the checks for houses with a second unit are on our Pickering real estate page.
A growing north end
The City of Pickering plans Seaton as a community for about 61,000 residents when built out, so many Pickering buyers are signing builder agreements rather than resale offers. Those agreements need a review before you are bound by them.
Estates
When a Pickering resident dies, probate goes to the Superior Court of Justice for Durham Region at the Oshawa courthouse, not to Toronto, and can be filed by email. Probate for Pickering estates
